Located on the right bank of the Rhône, the Saint-Joseph appellation is renowned for its red wines made from Syrah grapes. These grapes offer robust flavors with hints of pepper and spice. The specific plot where these grapes are grown is in the charming town of Tournon-Sur-Rhône. This vineyard comprises terraces and steep slopes, with the soil consisting solely of decomposed granite.
Saint Joseph's red "Cuvée du Potier" 2021 has a stamp of terroir with a lot of character.
The red fruit aromas ( black currant) are elegant. A rich and well-structured wine with a small production (only 2,000 bottles a year). Alcohol is 13% of the volume.
Winemaking: After the entire harvest is collected in the cellar, the grapes are pressed to enhance juice drainage. The juice is then cooled for 24 hours to allow sediment to settle. Following this, it is racked and undergoes 13 days of fermentation using indigenous yeasts.
Ageing: 12 months in oak barrels
The wine "Cuvée du Potier" 2021 is a tribute to a potter who generously offered to sell his land in Saint Joseph to Domaine de la Ville Rouge. The winery is honored that the potter selected them to produce exceptional Saint Joseph and takes great pride in this accomplishment.
