This particular vintage holds great significance for us. It originates from a renowned producer who has been consistently supplying us with our beloved Gigondas Origine wines since 2009, marking 15 years of loyalty and collaboration.
The Belle Jeanne white wine from Domaine Saint Gayan Châteauneuf du Pape is rare, with only 3,000 bottles produced. Its texture and generosity make it worth seeking out. With its elegance and finesse, this wine is remarkably powerful. It delights the senses with pronounced aromas of ripe yellow fruits, including peach and apricot, accompanied by a subtle hint of spiciness and a light minerality. Alcohol 14% volume.
Grapes: Clairette rose 30%, Clairette blanche 20%, Picpoul blanc 20%, Grenache blanc 20% and Bourboulenc 10%. Five years old vines, hand-picked.

The wine is made by the knowledgeable Gigondas guru, Jean-Pierre Meffre, who owns 0.75 hectares of vines in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, located between Château Beaucastel and Domaine de la Janasse.
Domaine Saint Gayan has an illustrious winemaking heritage from the 17th century. For over 12 generations, the estate has been carefully tended by dedicated winemakers who have passed down their knowledge and expertise from one generation to the next. The esteemed winemaking couple, Jean Pierre Meffre and his wife Martine, are preparing to transition the estate to the capable hands of their eldest daughter, Julie, and their son-in-law, Christian-Yves Carré de Lusançay. Christian-Yves has been an integral part of the estate for over fifteen years, working alongside Jean Pierre and Martine, and is well-prepared to continue the legacy of Domaine Saint Gayan for generations to come.
History: In 1987, Jean-Pierre Meffre was lucky to add a cuvée from the prestigious Châteauneuf du Pape appellation to his range. He has exploited this parcel in red for 30 years. All beautiful things come to an end, and this venerable 85-year-old vine had to be uprooted.
His dream was to create a high-quality white wine at Saint Gayan. He saw the opportunity and took on the daunting task of replanting with white grape varieties, making Saint Gayan the only area in Châteauneuf du Pape to produce white wine exclusively.
With Christian Yves, the son-in-law, taking over the vineyard, they have achieved a remarkable feat by creating a unique wine independent of traditional influences. Like a work of art by a skilled painter or a chef's innovative dish, the wine is a masterpiece. Their carefully selected grape varieties offer a perfect balance of freshness, elegance, and intensity, overcoming the challenges the climate poses. This reflects their unwavering dedication and passion for their craft.
When it comes to breeding, they prioritize purity by avoiding using wood and instead opting for stunning sandstone amphoras. Once the wine is made, they age their Belle Jeanne blend on fine lees and gently stir it for added flavor, reflecting their commitment to delivering a superior Chateauneuf du Pape white.
