The Estate
The 15.5-hectare vineyard of Château Belle Assise Coureau lies on a gentle sandy slope south of the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau. The 36-year-old vines are rooted in ancient sand-and-gravel soils, benefiting from ideal sun exposure and protection from the Dordogne River.
Once owned by the Brun family, the estate was purchased in 2013 by a group of friends led by Jean-Pierre Beltoise, the late Formula 1 driver and Monaco Grand Prix winner, and Alain Garitey, a Parisian lawyer. Today, Lionel Gallais manages the property, with Paul Junet as winemaker, bringing energy and precision to every vintage.
